Sounds like a great week for theatre-loving first time visitors to London! A suggestion, Chris: If you and your tourist friends want to see a great Hogarth site, with plenty of his art, visit his home in Chiswick. Easy to get to by bus from the city and free to enter with ATCA membership card. On the same day--I'd suggest a Sunday--Mary could get her fill of gardens (mostly by William Kent) at nearby Chiswick House on Burlington Lane. An architectural masterpiece filled with art, and what a contrast to Hogarth's House! When I first visited, I came away curious about how political and social views separated the owners of these houses. It's good to take away curiosity that leads to a bit of research and then learning. By the way, what do you think about how the Old Curiosity Shop (near Soane's) has been almost overwhelmed by newer buildings around it? Do tourist buses still stop there to sign the visitors book and buy mementos?- Marie Kilker
